Posted September 17, 2012 at 6:34pm by iClarified
Check out this printable nano-SIM cutting guide that will help you get your standard-SIM or micro-SIM cut down to a nano-SIM for the iPhone 5.

The guide was created by Christian von der Ropp and can be downloaded here. After you've cut down your SIM you might want to get a nano-SIM to micro-SIM or nano-SIM to standard-SIM card adapter.

I followed the instructions, but really just ended up guessing and cutting of little strips of metal and plastic until the sim fitted in the cradle. It worked perfectly! Thanks!

Just thought I'd share this, since I followed this great guide. It works to perfection, and you don't have to worry about it being thinner. It's no problem. I can speak of experience here.

@Savio, did you read the comment on the print? "Including tolerance defined by ETSI specifications (+30?m/ -70?m) NanoSIMs (0.67mm) are just 60?m thinner than previous SIMs (0.76mm), which corresponds to the thickness of a human hair and thus should not make a difference in practice. If unexpectedly necessary you may slightly grind the plastic side of your SIM card with sand paper. Never grind the chip side!" In worst case you have to sand paper down the none-chip side - it says so clearly.

why crapple is doing this ? There is more than enough space in every iphone model for mini sim . I heard in some countries you are subject to security clearance when you want to buy microsim, crapple it is very unecological shame on you crapple. it reminds different power adapters for every phone model few years ago

It's called advancement of technology. Various manufacturers submitted their own versions for consideration but as usual Apple had the best design so it will become the global standard, no brainer really. With nano tech working its way downstream everything is getting smaller and every mm saved is vital unless of course you want a huge samshit fablet in your pocket.
