Europe Gets Lightning to Micro USB Adapter

Posted September 14, 2012 at 5:14pm by iClarified
Apple has made a Lightning to Micro USB Adapter available to customers in Europe.

Unfortunately, the adapter is not listed in the North American Apple Stores although some customers (like us) would definitely appreciate this adapter.

The Lightning to Micro USB Adapter costs 15 pounds and can be seen at the link below...

Hi all, I bulk bought some here in the UK for friends in the US/Canada and have extras to sell. It's tiny and lightweight and will come in handy with all of my excess USB cables lying around. It will be funny to plug my new iPhone 5 into a Samsung/Blackberry charger. See www.chargethe5.com if you'd like to order one. Delivery to the US/Canada within a week.

Several months ago, I purchased a 30-pin to micro-USB adapter from Hong Kong through Ebay. Forget about blowing £15.00 on an official Apple-branded adapter; just wait a couple of weeks, and you can get it for, what, AU$1.29.

this adapter costs more than a 3rd party usb power supply including 30-pin or usb plug... that's a ripp off... GRRRR

I wonder why they can release it in Europe and not here in the US? I can't think of any technical reason, not any 'consumer demand' reason for the obvious exclusion

shouldn't it be 1.5 lbs rather than 15? 15 sounds a lot for a small adapter.
