I'm inclined to think this is fake. As in not shot with the iPhone5. i downloaded the ice cream image and check image properties, compared it to images from iPhone3GS and iPhone4. have a look. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/38709615/fake.JPG
i even checked it in Photoshop and its the same.
I stand corrected. Downloaded the original image from apple's website and its indeed shot with the iPhone5, or so it seems. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/38709615/seems%20real.JPG
check it out.
You don't adjust the aperture directly, but by tapping on screen to focus and expose the image it's very easy to produce this outcome. (tap a darker area to make the picture lighter affects the auto ISO and auto F-Stop controls. And like any other camera, getting closer and focusing shallower will blur the background.)
Every iPhone since the 3Gs has been capable of delightfully blurred bokeh.
And now funny part. As a graphik designer ive seen alot of pictures in my life. And kids on the grass and girl with ice cone ive seen 2 years ago. iPhone 5 didnt even existed
Charles, in answer to your question about 'dark environments', one of the few photo improvements was something to improve dark photos. Don't know how much better it's supposed to be, which is why I would have liked to have seen some of those samples instead.
Yeah, it's an 8mp camera like the 4S was. What's more, the sensor (which is the most important part of the camera) is smaller in this one than the 4S was. Pros can get a good photo with toy camera, I doubt the typical user will do as well. I actually like this new phone, but don't try to sell us the same old shit and tell us it's brand new!
lame article, its the same sensor as the 4S.
Iphone 5 is really kinda boring, and the new form factor seems a step back...its too tall and skinny, for example you cant reach the top row of icons with your thumb now...the phone requires two hands to use.
