Leaked Dock Connector for iPhone 5 and iPad Mini? [Photos]

Leaked Dock Connector for iPhone 5 and iPad Mini? [Photos]

iResQ has posted photos purporting to be of the dock connector and headphone jack for the iPad mini and the iPhone 5.

In the first picture below, you'll see two 8-pin dock connector and headphone jack assemblies for the Mini iPad on the left. On the right, you'll see two 8-pin dock connector and headphone jack assemblies for the iPhone 5 (or "New iPhone"). The interesting thing here is these assemblies come in either black or white, suggesting a change in design for the devices. Another thing of note is the fact that the iPad Mini's headphone jack is pretty close to the dock. This further hits on rumors that the iPad Mini will be more similar to the iPhone or iPod Touch than the current size iPad.

Take a look at the photos below...

It doesn't look like a MagSafe at all. If it was a MagSafe it would look like a mini version of what is on the laptops right now. And the pins would not go inside. The point of the MagSafe is to protect the pins from breaking.

4:3 ratio is archaic; 16:10 is the right progression that should have been for iPad 3. To preserve the 8x10 natural look of a page, they can put control bars on top and bottom. My money is on this leak format, which will find its way to iPad 4. Android has it right from start because they survey users. Just because you are great does not mean you are right all the time.

EVERYONE READ THIS, since the last shape of the iPhone was pretty much the same for 3 generations (iPhone 1,2,3) they only had minor changes in shape, so I'm guessing iPhone 4,5,6 are going to have almost the same shap. Anyone agree?

Yes me too completely agree with King's observation on the shape and form of the coming iPhone. Note, they tried to give us a new look on iPhone 3G and 3GS with their teardrops back share but they realized the original shape still looks the BEST. Also when you start designing new shape and look every time you release a new model you will definitely looks like the rest of the mobile phone maker before iPhone came into being and look at them? each time they come out with their latest release the appearance gets more and more ridiculous . hehehe

That definitely looks like it could be MagSafe

I'm sorry. I know you guys work hard to get these"leaked" images. But i bet not many people care about the dock connected and such. We would like to know about other specifications...we get it. It's gonna be 9 or so pins.
