A recent SquareTrade study shows which states have the most accidental damage claims filed for their iPhones or iPads. Accidental damage includes glass cracking on the device, water damage, and more.
As for which state is the clumsiest, Mississippi leads the US for both iPhone and iPad. Both graphics shown below show that the iPad or iPhone in Mississippi has a projected accidental damage rate of 30 to 35 percent over two years. Essentially, an Apple product there has a 1 in 3 chance of being damaged during their 24 month period.
On the other hand, Iowa has the lowest percent chance of being hurt by your clumsy owner. For iPads, the safest places to live are Hawaii, Montana, and West Virginia, which only have a 5 to 9 percent two-year accidental damage rate.
SquareTrade offers warranties on tons of consumer electronics and more. They even cover Jailbroken iPhones.
