Samsung Objects to 'Gratuitous Images' of Steve Jobs in Apple Trial Presentation

Samsung filed an objection to Apple's use of Steve Jobs photos in its opening presentation for trial, reports FOSS Patents.

Samsung objected to the images of Steve Jobs appearing in Slide Nos. 6, 7, 12, 16, and 29 of the opening presentation.

According to the company, "[t]hese gratuitous images have no evidentiary value and have been asserted in order to turn the trial into the popularity contest that the Court prohibited." Samsung then quoted the ruling which said: "Evidence related to Steve Jobs will generally be excluded unless it is specifically relevant to the IP rights at issue in the case, although the Court will make that determination on a case-by-case basis."

Late last night Judge Koh dismissed Samsung's objections ruling that the use of Steve Jobs images is "relevant to Apple's iPhone design patent and trade dress claims and is not unduly prejudicial".

The real thing that made iPhone, the revolutionary phone, was the way Steve Jobs explained the Design: Design is not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works. And as an industrial designer, I have to mention that, its the only way that a simple phone could turn into something great like iPhone.

Lol !!! Yeah for sure .... Probably why all Competitors try to copy Apple , specially Samsung..... What the reason that Samsung doesn’t want Jobs pics in Apple presentation .... Keep your effort to develop and invent something new instead of copying the Best market company !!!!

Samsung, people like your products because they are cheaper and easier to buy. Quit using subterfuge strategy. Use AMD stragety-low balling-and your phones will sell well. About your tablets, go back to drawing board and create a durable design, sell it for 10% less than the comparable iPad; then you may have a shot. I am saying this because Android has not yet been at equal with iOS.
