The Hague District Court has ruled that Apple must pay Samsung for infringing on 3G patent EP1188269.
Following the ruling Samsung issued a statement saying:
"Samsung welcomes the decision of the court in The Hague, which again confirms that Apple makes free use of our technological innovations. In accordance with this statement, we will recover adequate damages that Apple and its products have caused."
Since the patent is classified as FRAND (Fair Reasonable and Non Discriminatory), Samsung cannot ban the sales or import of the infringing devices. Those devices include the iPhone 3G, 3GS, 4, and iPad 1 and 2.
