M$ has always been very good at hardware... this does look interesting and competition is always good... but ... look around 13:20 when he tried to show a few things... arf... that made me laugh... really ? windows 8 ? stabilize it before attempting to show it.. kind of remind me of the BSOD for win 98 presentation ... hope he doesn't get fired...

Plus this tablet has its own OS with windows 8. iPad don't have that shit, no osx, Microsoft have beaten them to it. This is million times better than an iPad whichmim using now.

A cover that attaches itself magnetically to the device. Wow That's innovation!!! it took to them only 5 years to come with that kind of creativity. Well, and after saw Apples smart cover 2 years ago, of course.

It's embarrassing. This is the iPad 2 keynote with the magnetic covers and how they "made them alongside designing the tablet". "Look, it just snaps together just like that", the second dummy goes, "we actually put magnets right alongside so that the cover..."; And how about Microsoft "rich history" in hardware. 30 years of mostly mice, keyboards, XBox and the Kinect, which Microsoft had nothing to do with and the developers of Kinect are actually from Israel and went to Apple FIRST. So not only is this not MS "innovating" anything, it's sloppy seconds to boot. Then Ballmer goes on to educate the audience as to the importance of hardware and software interaction and how each should work with the other in complete harmony...haha...You mean like every last Apple product there ever has been? The whole presentation appeared thrown together with everyone reading from the script that they kept looking down for because that's where the teleprompter was. Back to the mouse again and how Microsoft "had to invent the mouse for Windows 1.0's GUI". In actuality, MS ripped it off from Apple who ripped it off from the infamous Xerox Park team. Apple certainly had a mouse well before Microsoft ever did. Even the STYLE was copied...the drooling over a super light and super thin magnesium shell and how luxurious it feels. There was not even any attempt to be original...actually, it goes further than even that: There was no attempt at covering up every last blatant attempt of copying what sounded mostly like the iPad 2 keynote. That's about right, because one year is at LEAST as far behind as MS is. PIXELS...That's right, even the Retina display was copied, except they don't really have one. The screens are 720p and 1080p, respectively, but because they called it ClearView or ClearDisplay HD or whatever the hell else, somehow by using those words, users can't even distinguish each individual pixel. Aluminum became magnesium, but they didn't have their own words for pixel I guess. Oh, and "...this is what keeps us going. This is why we come to work every day..." I felt embarrassed FOR them and their little Windows H8 that even most PC reviewers have an active disdain for... Wow...Just wow...Oh, and their video stopped at 21:44, so it wasn't even uploaded to YouTube correctly. lol... Btw, I haven't even been a Mac lover for more than 2 years, just in case I sound like I've had everything Apple ever made and consider everything crap. (umm...well...I do now I suppose lol) PEACE!

There are way to many apple fans here who are blind to see a good product. I own an iPhone and iPad but this tablet is bloody great, looks great and from their description will feel great. This is awesome especially the keyboard/cover feature which is solid and slick. The stand looks quality and the windows logo tips it off. It has an i5 processor which is bloody amazing superspeed, hd front and back camera. Now we finally have "proper" Microsoft office unlike the fake ones on my iPad which are limited. They start with a 32gb model and has a usb and hd port bloody amazing. People need to use their brain and see this is a breakthrough by microsoft. This is no copy of iPad but something better. I will sell my iPad for this, I won't be restricted to the videos I see online as flash is on this tablet. Plus I wont need to pay for an extra keyboard like I needed with my iPad. Microsoft makes this all in one. With the i5 processer this is a fast, slick, beautifully designed and overall great design. Microsoft spent time and made something even which apple fans will like.

I just put a keynote together in my garage that blew this one out of the water. I like how the crowd doesn't make any noise when the new product is shown, no one cares.

That CEO of M$ looks so angry, and all other presenters doesn't have pride of their product.. It just look like they've been dragged out to the stage unwillingly. However, it is brilliant idea to keep their keyboard on their smart cover.

Wow! I totally agree with this comment! This was my exact same feelings when I saw this video! They are presenting the device with to much doubt and nervousness. Very different from apple introductory videos!!! when you see a presentation made by apple you end up convinced you need that device.... I like this tablet though

This is more iPad than iPad! Metallic body , MagSafe like charge port (yes I know iPad doesn't use MagSafe) Tighter control over hardware software, smart cover ! Jesus, bill couldn't you have thought of Something original rather than blatantly ripping off apple??

ThIs looks amazing will sell my iPad 2 for sure. Does everything you would want and no, the keypad senses when you pull it back and the keyboard won't be activated, so you can use it as a cover, it has USB and he port, he camera from and back. The stand looks amazing and you won't fear it will break. This is a breakthrough by microsoft, will buy 100%. I'm have IPhone to, dnt have this can bias with Microsoft or apple. It's just if there's a better product I will buy it. And this surface will be the best of the tablet range. Plus it will have flash lol.

LMAO, i hope ull get the same out if the box. WWDC ROCKED!!!

A new tablet? Who gives a f*? Ipad is out a long time now. Though apple is being a bit bitchy as usual with their tiny upgrades and bif ads, their products are simply the best..
