LG Display and AU Optronics Certified to Supply iPad Mini LCDs?

LG Display and AU Optronics have reportedly passed Apple's certification test to supply LCD panels for the iPad mini, according to a Liberty Times report relayed by Macotakara.
The device, considered to be iPad mini, will be released during in 2012 3Q or 4Q, and target shipping amount seems to be expected to reach 6 million. The report told, 4 million backlight module will be produced by TPK Holding, and 2 million will be done by Chimei Innolux. Touch film sensor will be provided by Nissha Printing.
Apple is reportedly targeting October 2012 for the release of a 7-inch iPad, according to another report. The device is said to cost between $200 and $250 making it a strong competitor to the Kindle Fire.
