The Guardian app for iPad has been updated with improved section navigation, clearer issue picker, pull down to dismiss, and more.
The Guardian iPad edition beautifully re-imagines the newspaper for the iPad. Each issue showcases our comprehensive international reporting, thoughtful commentary, award-winning sports journalism and unique approach to coverage of culture, science, the environment, media and technology.

The Guardian iPad edition is free for a limited period then available via an auto-renewable subscription as follows:
- the subscription costs £9.99 for one month, with six issues published each week
- payment will be charged to your iTunes Account at confirmation of purchase
- your subscription will automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24-hours before the end of the current period
- your account will be charged for renewal within the 24 hours prior to the end of the current period, at a cost of £9.99 for a further month
- you can manage your subscription via your iTunes account and auto-renewal may be turned off by going to Account Settings after purchase
- no cancellation of the current subscription is allowed during the active subscription period
- any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when the user purchases a subscription to the Guardian iPad edition
- The Guardian reserves the right to alter the pricing at any point
What's New In This Version:
- improved sections navigation: carousel replaced by popover to give a better overview of all available sections and a quicker route to them
- clearer issue picker: removed the "tap to download" bezels so that the content isn't obscured by the messaging
- in article view, pull down to dismiss is now available as well as tapping the close "x" on the coloured header bar at the top of the article
- the chevrons to either side of articles and fronts have been removed
- crash and bug fixes
