Senator Asks FTC to Investigate Apple Over Photo Privacy Issues

Senator Chuck Schumer is reportedly asking the FTC to investigate Apple and Android over privacy issues with developer access to photos and contacts, according to AMNY.

Schumer asked the FTC "to investigate a disturbing and potentially unfair practice in the smartphone application market" where developers who have been given location info access can also get customer's photos.

"When someone takes a private photo, on a private cell phone, it should remain just that: private," Schumer said. "It sends shivers up the spine to think that one's personal photos, address book, and who-knows-what-else can be obtained and even posted online – without consent."
