A new infographic from Online Teaching Degree shows that outfitting students with iPads and E-Books costs far more than using textbooks.
The graphic shows that the cost providing iPads and E-Books to 2,000 students would be $430,000/year based on a 4 lifespan for the iPad.
The cost of providing textbooks to the same 2,000 students would be $180,000/year.
Notably, these calculations appear to be for high school students who are only provided with an estimated $450 worth of textbooks that are reused each year. University students on the other hand can easily spend $1,500 on textbooks each year and these are not reused by other students.
