iLab is reporting that the leaked iPad 3 LCD, back plate, and dock connector cable fit together.
We assembled the back plate of iPad2 and iPad3(?) into the LCD panel by Sharp Corporation which we've got the other day. The points which the arrows indicate just the right size as screw holes. Now, it became clear that the LCD panel made by SHARP was designed for this back panel.
They also note that the screw holes on the dock connector and back plate align together.
According to the site, the back plate is slightly thicker; less than 1mm, and equal-sized length and breadth.
This would suggest that Apple at least had Retina Display prototypes built using the Sharp LCD. The company is expected to announce its next generation tablet in the first week of March.
