Apple will reportedly ship a Retina Display iPad 3 in March and then an iPad 4 'with killer applications' in October, according to a DigiTimes report.
The site's predictions for the iPad 3 are in line with general expectations.
The iPad 3 will come with a QXGA (1,536x2,048 pixels) display and longer battery life although its other hardware specifications may not be so amazing as expected, said the sources. But Apple will take the advantage of the iPad 3 launch to slash the price of its iPad 2 to US$399, the sources claimed.
According to Taiwan component makers Apple is also planning to ship an iPad 4 in October, around the time Microsoft releases Windows 8.
The 9.7-inch iPad 4 is expected to come with much upgraded hardware specifications and integrated applications so as to compete with an array of Android-, Wintel- or WoA (Windows on ARM)-based tablet PCs to be released in the fourth quarter, said the sources.
In the past there were rumors of multiple iPad releases in one year; however, those never materialized. It's unclear if the these two models are the mid-range and high-end versions that the site had previously predicted.
Apparently all I have to do to get iclarified to report it is just write it. So, here goes -
"A reliable source in Taiwan tells us that Apple intends to release the iPad 3 this March. The unnamed source also tells us that Apple will skip the iPad 4 & 5 and release the iPad 6 one month later. The iPad 6 will reportedly be a "virtual" device in that it will appear that there is nothing in the box when it is opened. The good news is that the iPad WILL finally have a USB port!"
So there you have it iclarified.
Digitimes is supposedly making a new app "3 sea shells" based on the device from the movie "Demolition Man" so after you read any of there reports you can use your iPad to wipe your a-ss. That allows for the best use of Digitime reports and predictions.
Here we go again with ridiculous rumors!
There is no way in hell that apple would release the iPad 3 and then the 4 seven months later. There is even less of a chance that they would announce to anyone that this is there plan. Why would anyone plan to buy something today that is going to be old tech in just a few short months. Apple knows this.
So, iclarified, use your filter please, when it comes to this kind of info.
