RedSn0w and Corona Updated to Fix Launchctl Error With Untethered Jailbreak

Posted December 28, 2011 at 6:15pm by iClarified
RedSn0w and Corona have been updated to resolve a launchctl related error experienced after jailbreaking, thanks to help from saurik and planetbeing.

The b2 version of redsn0w includes the launchctl-related fix by @planetbeing as mentioned by @saurik here and here. As usual, you can just re-run redsn0w in jailbreak mode over your existing 5.0.1 jailbreak (even a PwnageTool one), making sure to de-select "Install Cydia" if you do. Always be sure to do a controlled "slide to power off" shutdown of your device before running redsn0w.

You can download the new version of redsn0w from here.

Saurik also notes that updated version of Corona can upgrade redsn0w users who are experiencing this issue. You can find instructions on how to use Corona here.

The launchctl issue also affects you if you used redsn0w to install the 5.0.1 untether. I have built 1.0-3, which can upgrade redsn0w users.

Ok here is some info. What was wrong? If you respring your iphone get's stuck. And you need to reboot. When do you resping? Well, if you installes something from cydia/change things in SBsetting the iphone respings. You are stuck in safe mode after installing this (re-jailbreak) solution: go to redsnow -> extra -> boot tethered. After the boot you just need to restart the Iphone and then you are out of the safe mode (safes you re-installing all your stuff again as I've read bellow) Hope this helps some of you, if it did, please like my post as appreciation. Cheers

Sam, I just tried it and no luck. Seems my root files are messed up as I get many errors but it is successful with the JB. Maybe Corona was the issue, I don't know for sure. I need to do a fresh install which will keep me up all night :(
