Remove Recents Keeps Your iOS Task Switcher Clean

Remove Recents Keeps Your iOS Task Switcher Clean

Posted December 7, 2011 at 5:32pm by iClarified
iOS developer EvilPenguin| has released Remove Recents, a tweak that keeps your task switcher clear of tasks that aren't running. Originally authored by Big Boss, EvilPenguin| has rewritten the tweak from the ground up.

Removes Recents from the task switcher. The stock task switcher is really annoying. Everytime you launch an app, it sits in the task switcher even when it is not running. Apple considers this a feature I guess. It's really lame. Pretty soon you have a ton of apps down there with no idea what's running or not (most of it is not). This extension will remove all the recents so that only running tasks show up, the way it should be.

There are no options to configure for this tweak. You can get it free from the Big Boss Cydia repository.

It seems that people aren't understanding to what serves this APP! It serves to remove the APPs that are in the background that DO NOT SUPPORT MULTITASKING DOCK!!! This is great!!!

Adding Remove Recents will add SwitcherMod, which crashes on my iP4 with iOS 5.0. So Remove Recents is unusable for me until that bug is fixed.

I actually stopped using a task switcher cleaner because I decided that I actually lilke the concept behind the stock implementation: keep the most recently-used apps closest at hand. If I need an app, I have no choice but to launch it regardless of whether or not it's till in memory or has been flushed. I just want its icon available.
