Independent developer Alco Blom has announced Web Confidential 4.0 for OS X, a major update to his productivity app that consolidates and stores all a user's confidential information, such as Passwords, PINS, User IDs, Serial Numbers, etc. using unbreakable Blowfish encryption. Featuring 14 pre-defined password categories, Web Confidential provides instant access to passwords from within the browser and from the Dock. The app employs a convenient cardfile metaphor to assure easy setup, and can also be used to generate new passwords.

Web Confidential comes with 14 pre-defined categories of confidential information: WWW forms, WWW Sites, FTP Servers, Newsgroups, Login Accounts, Email Accounts, Bank Accounts, Online Banking, Credit Cards, ATM/PIN Cards, Personal Data, Software Keys, Serial Numbers, Membership Numbers, and Miscellaneous. To store data, the user selects the appropriate category and clicks the "+" Add button.

Users can retrieve passwords through the Web Confidential app directly, simply by typing the first few letters of the search term into the search field. Selecting the required item, users can copy and paste via the Action menu. System-wide access to passwords is gained in a similar manner. For example, if the user ID and password is needed to access a web site, the first step is to find it using the Search toolbar item as previously discussed. When the password is located, the user selects it in the List View. Now, choosing "Go" from the Action menu automatically switches to the browser and the system-wide Password Utility Window is shown, giving the user access to all the data about this password. Clicking on the "ID & Password" button will automatically fill in a WWW Form. Alternatively, the user can click the Clipboard icon to copy password data to the Clipboard.

Feature Highlights:
* Keep all your confidential data in one place and throw away all those scraps of paper
* Simple GUI allows fast entry of passwords in 14 pre-defined categories
* Access passwords from within the browser, from the dock, or from the Menu bar
* Blowfish algorithm for encryption - no known successful cryptanalysis against Blowfish exists
* Large number of configurations for power users
* Free demo version

While in another application, like Safari, Explorer, or Mail, users can Control-Click on the Web Confidential icon in the Dock and access all password items via the Popup menu. The app also includes Dropbox support, so that all confidential information can be stored in the cloud and will be available through multiple Macs.

"I am very appreciative of the excellent response to Web Confidential," stated indie developer Alco Blom.

Language Support:
* U.S. English, French, German, Dutch, Italian, and Spanish

Pricing and Availability:
Web Confidential 4.0 is only $19.99 (USD) and is available worldwide through the Mac App Store (U.S. and Canada only) in the Productivity category. Web Confidential 4.0 is also available directly from the developer, and a free trial version may be downloaded. Review copies are available upon request.
