Conde Nast has seen a 268% jump in digital subscriptions sales per week on average since the launch of Apple's new iOS Newstand app, according to Monica Ray, Conde Nast's EVP of consumer marketing.

With the release of iOS 5 Apple added a new place on the App Store just for newspaper and magazine subscriptions which can be accessed straight from Newsstand. New purchases go directly to your Newsstand folder. Then, as new issues become available, Newsstand automatically updates them in the background.

Ray notes that part of the boost can be attributed to the launch of the new app; however, she expects to "see a consistently higher level of growth going forward than [it] did prior to the app's introduction."

Allure, Brides, Glamour, Golf Digest, GQ, Self, The New Yorker, Vanity Fair and Wired are currently available on the Newsstand. Vogue, Bon Appetit and Conde Nast Traveler are scheduled to be available on the Newsstand by early 2012.
