Vancouver's Zite app is reportedly in the process of being acquired by CNN for $20-25 Million, according to TechVibes.

Zite is a personalized magazine for your iPad that automatically learns what you like and gets smarter as you use it. Zite gives you personalized news, articles, blogs, videos and other content from a variety of both mainstream and niche publications and sites and can personalize by syncing with your Twitter or Google Reader account or on its own.

TechVibes notes that in March Zite received a cease and desist letter from a large group of media company lawyers, who collectively insist that Zite must stop "misappropriating" their intellectual property. Companies pressuring Zite included giants The Washington Post, Time Warner (CNN's parent), AP, and Getty Images.

If acquired by CNN, Zite would be a great success story for its founders and the Canadian government programs that helped fund the startup.

You can download Zite Personalized Magazine from the App Store for free.
