Apple is not planning to update the Apple TV this quarter despite having sold nearly half a million in the last, according to Concord Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
Industry checks indicate that Apple shipped 480,000 units during the second calendar quarter of the year, representing more than 70% year-over-year growth, reports AppleInsider.
However, Kuo was able to find no evidence that Apple is planning a hardware revision to the Apple TV during the third quarter. Instead, he believes the company will rely on a software update this fall that will allow devices such as the iPad 2 and iPhone 5 to mirror their screens to the current device.
