A 9to5Mac tipster managed to snap a picture of what they believe may be the iPhone 5 being used by an Apple employee on the way home from work., according to a report released moments ago.
The tipster was able to get a very good look at the device but unable to snap a picture to "do it justice". After returning home and seeing the green cases photos posted online yesterday he determined that it was likely a legitimate device.
"Almost EVO-like" in screen size, this iPhone also appears thinner than the current iPhone 4 but also wider. The edges are rounded metal like the edges of a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 but could still function as an antenna. The back is a curved/tapered glass or plastic. He couldn't tell but if he had to guess he'd say glass. He said it looked too amazing to be built by anyone besides Apple (fanboy!).
The man using the device was apparently making an effort to hide what he had. Apple does do real world testing of their upcoming devices as the iPhone 4 leak is evidence of.
Take a look at the photo and let us know your thoughts!
Oh my god guys!! I see someone playing cut the rope on his iphone 3Gs!! Let's take a picture and say that its the iphone 5 because the quality is crappy. They'll post anything on iclarified! These rumors are getting more fake each day.
this is obviously a 3GS.. the "slot" above is just a reflection on the curved surface and that's where the SIM slot was on the 3GS anyway. The dead give away is the volume control.. Apple would not go back to the 1 button teeter totter thing on the 5 after going separate on the 4, besides if you remember they took great lengths to conceal the appearance of the 4 by concealing it in a case that almost looked like a 3GS.. so I'm sure they would have done the same here.
Why not just go up to the person and ask to look at the phone instead of taking such a crappy picture? What's the worst that can happen, them moving to a different seat on the train and you following them?
3 months and counting.......
Time since iClarified last posted an article that didn't begin with "Possible", "Is this", included the word "Could" or end with a question mark.
Sorry, but this is the last article I will read here. Someone sets up a pic of someone using a phone and you post it up as the 7,000th iphone 4s/5 related rumour.
Absolutely pointless web site.
That photo shows a rather thick plastic case. And if you recall the leaked iPhone 4 was in a case that looked very much like an iPhone 3G/3G[s] ... Look how much plastic is around the buttons ... It is similar to what car companies do to new models they use odd paint and plastic tape schemes to disguise the true styling of the car so that folks who snap a photo over the test track fence have a harder time. I am "hoping" a slight curved back and hand friendly wedge shape my self. And maybe the A6 processor just to surprise folks... Much better graphics are expected there.
I hope that they only curve the sides coming down to the back of the phone but keep the back flat, that way it will feel comfortable in the hand and you'll also be able to set it on a flat surface and not have to deal with it wobbling around like the iPhone 3G and 3GS.
For the very first time this iPhone 5 leak seems pretty legit. The design looks great just as always but what the heck is at the top? Looks kind of like a slot. I have a Droid Charge and I was convinced I had found a phone that would keep me away from an iPhone 5, but now I'm back on the iPhone bandwagon! This looks promising and I'm probably going to pick one up for sure!
That is not a slot. It is the sheen on the plastic between the on/sleep/off switch and the headphone jack. This looks a lot like the written descriptions of the case used on the iPhone 4 prototype.
On another look ... Maybe it is the sim slot cover access. But a little wide for that. A dock connector on top would be bad. People put phones in their pocket upside down usually. And that helps keep lint out of the bottom connector. On top you'd lose that advantage. (it is a small consideration, but that is why Apple is Apple, attention to such details) The original iPhone had the sim slot on top. But we'll know soon enough ...
