Apple has introduced a new Assistive Touch feature that uses an overlay menu or custom gestures to perform user assigned functions, reports AppleInsider.

The feature can be used by those with with disabilities to perform tasks that might normally be difficult, for example: rotating the screen, shaking the device, adjusting the volume, pinch, swipe, or locking the screen.

Users can also create custom gestures, tracing certain patterns or movements with their fingers on the screen to accomplish some tasks that may be difficult. These gestures can then be given a name and accessed from the Assistive Touch menu.
