Digital Oddities has announced Stock Chartist 2.4 for iOS, an update to their Finance app that provides comprehensive stock charting along with watchlist and portfolio monitoring. Designed to offer the same complex analysis of technical indicators as desktop software, the app features scrollable, zoomable charts with touch activated, pop-up windows for daily data. Stock Chartist operates in both portrait and landscape modes, provides sharp text and graphics on any size screen, and offers flexible user settings to customize chart parameters. The ideal solution for traders on the go, it includes everything from Moving Averages to MACD, Bollinger Bands to RSI, Stochastic Oscillators to Swing Charts.

Feature Highlights:
* Watchlist functionality so user can save and easily track their favorite stocks
* Portfolio functionality so user can easily keep track of their positions
* High quality charts
* Candlestick, OHLC Bar, and Closing Price Line chart types
* Daily, Weekly and Monthly charts
* Zoomable charts
* All charts can be viewed in portrait or landscape mode

The simple GUI consists of four navigational buttons in the bottom tab bar: Watchlist, Portfolio, Search, and Settings. All lists, searches, and settings are viewed in portrait mode, while all charts may be viewed in either portrait or, more easily, in landscape mode. Users may populate watchlists or a portfolio listing with stocks. Touching the Search button allows the trader to enter either the company stock symbol or full name. The scrollable results list contains the ten closest symbols from international exchanges, including the full name.

Technical Indicators:
* Moving Averages (Simple and Exponential): Up to 4 per chart
* MACD Indicator (Moving Average Convergence/Divergence)
* Volume data
* Average Range and Average True Range (ATR)
* Relative Strength Indicator (RSI)
* Bollinger Bands
* Fast and Slow Stochastic Oscillator
* Rate of Change (ROC) Momentum Indicator
* Directional Movement Index (DMI/ADX) Indicator
* Swing Chart overlay
* All indicator parameters are fully customizable
* Display of each chart may be set On/Off

Touching any search result brings up a vertical, six-pane pop-up window, allowing the user to: view the basic stock information, view a daily chart, view a weekly chart, view a monthly chart, add the stock to any watchlist, or add the stock to their portfolio. The basic information page includes: Symbol, Name, Exchange, Last Price, Change, Movement, Previous Close, Open, Volume, Day Range, 52 Week Range, Bid, and Ask. New in Version 2.4 is the ability to save stocks to either a Master Watchlist or to create individual, user-named watchlists.

Selecting a daily, weekly, or monthly chart opens a color graph on dark grey background. Charts open in only one or two seconds, and are easily widened by rotating the device to landscape mode. Once open, moving between different chart configurations is instantaneous. Charts contain a legend identifying each colored line, and a control window permits changing the time scale to one month, three months, or six months (with longer timeframes for weekly and monthly charts). Buttons permit display as a candlestick chart, OHLC bars, or a simple line chart of closing price. Below the chart is a type selector, which can be swiped left or right to bring up a succession of charts via a flip transition: Basic Chart, Volume, Average Range, Moving Averages, MACD, Relative Strength Indicator, Bollinger Bands, Stochastic Oscillator, Rate of Change, DMI / ADX, and Swing Overlay.

Supported Exchanges:
* NYSE (no suffix required)

* Toronto (.TO suffix)
* Paris (.PA suffix)
* Oslo (.OL suffix)

Double tapping on any chart expands it and enables horizontal scrolling. A yellow indicator light appears, and in expanded mode the user may slowly touch and slide their finger horizontally to activate a pop-up window containing daily, weekly, or monthly data, depending on the scale setting. Many charts display both primary and secondary graphs, and secondary graphs may be expanded fullscreen by swiping up.

"Stock Chartist offers the power of a desktop charting and technical analysis program on the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch," stated Anthony Jansen of Digital Oddities. "Now, serious traders can make informed decisions anytime, anywhere."
