Lodsys has requested the court give it two more months to answer Apple's motion to intervene in their lawsuits against iOS developers, according to FOSSPatents.
Apple says that the sued app developers are "are individuals or small entities with far fewer resources than Apple and [...] lack the technical information, ability, and incentive to adequately protect Apple's rights under its license agreement." If Apple is allowed to participate as an intervenor, it has already submitted its answer to the complaint, and its counterclaim.
Lodsys claims that its request for additional time is not a delay tactic. "[t]his extension is not for purposes of delay" and claims to have Apple's blessing:
Counsel for Lodsys conferred with counsel for Apple and Apple does not oppose the relief [i.e., the extension] requested herein.
