A little bit of an old news article piece here, but astounding nonetheless. Last week, statistics were released on the App Store and on the iPhone 3G sales. Most of our readers know that the 3G sold almost 1 Million worldwide. We don't know how many they sold in the US only, but compared to last years 1st Gen sales, they aren't that great. What is astounding is the amount of downloaded applications from the App Store that have already happened within the 1st week of opening.
Apple has pulled it off. The Cupertino company managed to sell in a very short timespan a million of its latest iPhone. Furthermore, it also sold 10 million applications from its AppStore. Apple's goal is to reach 10 million sales of the iPhone by the end of the year.
