Constrained supplies of the Mac Pro and Mac Mini could mean updates are coming soon, according to a 9to5Mac source.
In addition to OS X Lion, our sources are already expecting new MacBook Airs and Time Capsules fairly soon due to supply shortages and now Mr. X tells 9to5Mac that Apples Mac mini Server and Mac Pro Server are constrained with no shipment date yet in place for new models.
While Apple has updated its MacBook Pros and iMacs to Sandy Bridge processors with Thunderbolt, its other Macs have fallen behind. Apple may be saving its Mac Pro update to coincide with the release of Final Cut Pro X; however, its unclear why the MacBook Air and Mac Mini have not been updated yet.
Rumors earlier this year predicted a new design for the Mac Pro that's narrower and shorter letting it fit in a 3U rackspace. It's been nearly a year since the Mac Mini and Mac Pro have seen an update. Hopefully the updates will arrive soon.
