Jack Dorsey's payment service Square was called Squirrel until a lunch at Apple, according to the TNW.
Interestingly, it wasn't Apple that told Dorsey to change the name; rather, it was the point of sale system in the Apple cafe.
Dan Rosen told me via Twitter that Dorsey was actually having lunch with Apple SVP of iPhone Software Scott Forstall when he saw a point-of-sale system in the Apple cafe from a company named 'Squirrel systems', so he had to change the name of the company. Youd think he would have Googled it right?
