Fun New Way To Learn US And International Capitals

The EdgeMates family of educational games has just expanded into geography. Now there is a fun, new way to learn capitals on the iPad that takes the boredom out of memorization. The object of the game is simple. A series of square tiles are created that have cities, states, or countries on each side. The goal is to place the tiles on the game board so that each city matches up with its appropriate state or country on the connecting edge-its "edgemate".

Three different levels of difficulty are available - 4, 9, or 16 tiles. The easy level is perfect for learning the capitals themselves. The normal level starts to show the difficulty of the game. Finally, the hard level becomes a real challenge. Even once you know your capitals, the game is still challenging and addictive.

EdgeMates is based on an exercise used by many foreign language teachers. Instead of the traditional method of creating paper cards with the words on each side, everything is ready to play immediately.

Three versions are available:

EdgeMates - US Capitals:
The title speaks for itself. 50 capitals, 50 states.

EdgeMates - North American Capitals:
Learn your capitals with a slightly different spin. Not only are the 50 US Capitals included, but also the 10 Canadian Provinces and 31 Mexican States. A great chance to expand your geography knowledge. You can either limit yourself to a single country, or combine them all for a unique challenge. Expand your mind as well as your knowledge.

EdgeMates - World Capitals:
Like the North American version, World capitals are divided into continents, so you can focus on the countries of an individual continent, or take on the challenge of matching capitals from anywhere in the world.
