Lagente Software has announced Clippings, a new note pad and note taking App for the Mac which offers advanced features like encryption, hierarchical organization of notes and full search amongst many other features. Clippings, which was created for users looking for a simpler to use note application but did not want to compromise on the visual quality of their apps, focuses on ease of use, elegance and avoiding feature-creep. It is available on the Mac App Store for a limited time for $0.99$ US, after which it will be sold for $9.99.
"Clippings is actually based on years of feedback from users of note pad software," says Marcie Lewis, PR representative for Lagente. "Our users are very demanding for the software they use every day. Although there are lots of notes applications out there, Clippings offers a lot more for a lot less. We do not wish to offer all possible features, but a subset of the most-often used features, like encryption, organizing of notes in folders, quick search and many formatting options. Too many features get unused in more elaborate software, and that's simply not what our users want."
One of the most cherished features in Clippings lies in its file format. Each page is stored in the document bundle as a separate RTFD file and can be accessed directly if required, without launching Clippings. So if anything goes wrong, or if for any reason a user wished to move up to a more advanced piece of software, they simply can. Even encrypted pages can be accessed this way and be re-imported into a new Clippings file if you have the password. And don't forget that password, because if you do, the AES-128-encrypted pages simply cannot be cracked.
Pricing and Availability:
Clippings 1.0.1 is available for a limited time at $0.99 USD (or equivalent amount in other currencies) and available worldwide through the Mac App Store in the Productivity category. For more information and tutorials on Clippings, visit Lagente Software online.
