Apple is planning to release Mac OS X Lion through the Mac App Store, according to AppleInsider sources.

The Mac App Store, available to all users running the most recent version of Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard, will become the de facto method for obtaining the Lion upgrade, people familiar with the matter have revealed. It's presumed that Apple will also make a CD or USB key version of Mac OS X Lion available to those with slower Internet connection.

Apple is already using the Mac App Store to let developers install the beta of Mac OS X Lion.
