Apple may be considering Everlight Electronics as a new supplier for its iPad LED backlight products, according to DigiTimes report.
The Chinese-language Commercial Times reports that Everlight has been shipping LEDs with a brightness of 2,000 millicandelas (mcd) for use in tablet PC backlighting to Taiwan-based brand companies since March.
Everlight has reportedly delivered samples of these LED backlight products to Apple for validation.
