Millennial Media has released its March Mobile Mix Report which examines their smartphone and tablet network data.
In our March Mobile Mix report, the Verizon iPhone helped spur an 11% month-over-month growth for iOS, and the influx of new tablet devices contributed to a 21% month-over-month growth for connected devices as a category. Highlights in the March report:
● Android remained the leading Smartphone OS on our network for the 4th consecutive month with a 48% impression share. 14 of the current Top 20 Devices run on the Android OS.
● iOS apps represented a 47% share in our Application Platform Mix. This was tied, in part, to an increase in iPad applications.
● The BlackBerry Curve reclaimed the number 2 position in the Top 20 mobile phones, and the BlackBerry Torch grew 23% month-over-month.
● Gaming apps were the top app category on the Millennial network, and shopping and retail apps experienced a 40% month-over-month growth.
● Global Quick Stats:
- Apple impressions grew 29% month-over-month
- Android impressions grew 23% month-over-month
- RIM impressions grew 14 % month-over-month
