Mysterious 'ix.Mac.MarketingName' Appears in iOS App Requirements

A mysterious ix.Mac.MarketingName placeholder has appeared on the App Store in the compatibility requirements for numerous applications, according to MacRumors.

Noticed first by Panic developer Cabel Sasser, it is unclear what exactly this placeholder is for. Its positioning alongside "Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, iPad and" suggests that perhaps its a new device or emulator.
