Apple Orders 12PB of Capacity For iTunes

Apple has reportedly ordered 12PB of capacity from Isilon Systems to manage the video download of its customers using iTunes, according to a StorageNewsletter's source inside EMC.

It's probably the largest of its 1,500 customers recorded at the end of December, including 20% in Europe. On April 11, Isilon will launch a new line of hardware and software. But IBM has not respected the embargo and has revealed the enhanced Isilon OneFS 6.5 operating system - integrated with Tivoli Storage Manager - on its web site.
