Boxcar Gets a Native Mac OS X Client

Boxcar, a popular notifications app for iOS, has released a beta of its native client for Mac OS X.

"This is another step in offering Boxcar wherever you're at. We believe in delivering messages to people – not devices. We want to deliver messages to you, wherever you’re at. That will be on your phone, tablet, desktop, TV or car. It doesn’t matter to us, as long as it gets to you," creator Jonathan George told TechCrunch.

Initially, Boxcar is not available in the Mac App Store. George says Apple's requirements for the App Store make testing the application difficult. It's expected that an App Store release will come down the road.
