Firemint has announced that support for full screen 1080p output on iPad 2 will be included in the next major update for Real Racing 2 HD.

At this resolution, the game looks utterly fantastic and runs at a silky smooth 30 frames per second. The dream of relaxing on your couch, iPad 2 as your steering wheel in hand and playing Real Racing 2 HD on your big screen is almost here!

Real Racing 2 HD will likely be the first iOS game to support this feature. You can see a sneak peek video that demos the upcoming feature below...

iOS version of rage does this already. This isn't the first game to do this.

This seems cool, but only if it will stream the image through the Apple TV or something. I don't have an Apple TV, but it seems like it would be a pain in the ass to have the HDMI cable sticking out of the iPad and you can only move that far away from the TV.

Agreed. Don't think streaming would be fast enough to keep up though would it? Maybe you could run the game from the IPad via HDMI and steer using an iPhone over the network.
