Houdah Software has announced the immediate availability of Tembo 1.4. Tembo is sold exclusively through the Apple Mac App Store. A demo version is available from the Houdah web site. Tembo is an efficient search tool that is based upon the Spotlight engine. Tembo makes searching for files, mail messages, bookmarks, ... easy and effective. Tembo's strength is its easy to use interface. Its signature feature are the context sensitive filters to narrow down search results.
At first sight, you will find Tembo to have been inspired by the original Spotlight interface as we knew it under Mac OS X Tiger. Search results are grouped by file type categories. Preferences allow for categories to be enabled, disabled and reordered.
Double-click a group header to reveal the real power of Tembo: drill-down opens a view dedicated to the selected group. Tembo may list up to 2500 search results within each group. Here you will find filters appropriate for the context. These help you sort through the list of results. Messages, for example, may be filtered by subject, sender and recipient.
Each result category has its own dedicated filers:
* Bookmarks: Type, URL Domain
* Documents: File Type
* Fonts: File Type
* Images: Resolution, File Type
* Messages: Subject, From, To
