According to a Bloomberg report, Verizon Wireless will also sell a version of the iPad that directly connects to their network. It is unclear on whether it will be based off of CDMA or LTE technologies.

Verizon will get an embedded chip in the iPad for use on its network, Francis Shammo, chief financial officer of Verizon Communications Inc., the parent of the wireless unit, said today in an interview in New York. IPad users currently need an extra device to connect to Verizon’s network. Shammo declined to say when the change may happen.

In October of 2010, Verizon started selling the iPad with a Mifi hotspot bundle ranging from $629.99 to $829.99. Currently, the iPad only operates on AT&T's 3G network.
