Gene Munster, an analyst at Piper Jaffray, recently released the results of a small survey of consumers who don't own a tablet.
According to FORTUNE, the consumers were shown both the $629 iPad 3G and the $599 Samsung Galaxy Tab and asked which they preferred (iPad won 85% to 15%) and what they thought a reasonable price for each would be.
Munster reports that his sample group thought the iPad was worth about $417 -- $212 (34%) less than its suggested retail price. The Galaxy Tab, by comparison, was worth about $283 -- $316 (53%) below its retail price.
