Lazard Capital analyst Danile Amir believes SanDisk and Samsung will be providing SSDs for the rumored MacBook Air.
Apple is expected to launch a redesigned notebook with SSD storage instead of traditional HDD storage at wednesday's press event.
SanDisk (SNDK) and Samsung will provide SSDs for the product, with 64-128 GB of storage, with a cost to Apple of $100-$200. He thinks SanDisk could sell 700,000-900,000 units to Apple in 2011, for incremental revenue of $70 million to $90 million. The Lazard analyst adds that the apparent Apple design win could be the "beginning of a longer-term partnership" between Apple and SanDisk.
