Target and Sam's Club will begin selling the iPhone before this holiday season, according to The Street and AppleInsider.
Sam's Club will begin offering Apple's iPhone and iPad, the company announced during Wal-Mart's annual meeting this morning. A timeframe was not provided for when the devices would hit the warehouse club. Sam's Club said it is attempting to increase the quality in its consumer electronic categories, as well as its fresh food and health and wellness divisions.
Target is said to be carrying the iPhone as part of a partnership with RadioShack which will put mobile phone centers in approximately 850 of its 1,743 stores by the holiday shopping season
According to people familiar with the matter, word of the iPhone's impending arrival at Target first began to spread last month during meetings between store and district managers in what was then the lead up to last week's rollout of the iPad at Target stores.
