Apple is dropping the price of all the songs on iTunes Plus -- the Apple music store which features songs without digital rights management.
Apple will drop the price on DRM-Free tracks from $1.29 to $.99. This will bring iTunes in line with Wal-Mart and Amazon which are currently offering cheaper DRM-Free tracks. Unfortunately, only EMI Group has opted to offer DRM-Free tracks on iTunes so this only applies to a limited selection of songs.
Apple has indicated they will being adding new music to iTunes Plus from independent recording companies but so far no word on adding any more large labels.
