Lawrence J. Ellison, the chief executive of Oracle, told the NYTimes that HP just made the worst personnel decision since Apple fired Steve Jobs.
Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President Mark Hurd was forced to resign by the Board of Directors after a sexual harassment investigation that found no sexual harassment but only some inaccurate expense reports.
Alleged 'victim' Jodie Fisher says she and Hurd "never had an affair or intimate sexual relationship," and, "I have resolved my claim with Mark privately, without litigation." She continues to express regret over the situation. "I was surprised and saddened that Mark Hurd lost his job over this," she said. "That was never my intention."
Oracle CEO and friend of Hurd's wrote this to the NYTimes:
"The H.P. board just made the worst personnel decision since the idiots on the Apple board fired Steve Jobs many years ago. That decision nearly destroyed Apple and would have if Steve hadn’t come back and saved them."
"In losing Mark Hurd, the H.P. board failed to act in the best interest of H.P.’s employees, shareholders, customers and partners," Mr. Ellison wrote. "The H.P. board admits that it fully investigated the sexual harassment claims against Mark and found them to be utterly false."
