Evidence of New High Resolution iPad Display?

Hot on the heels of online reports (1, 2) that Apple is prepping a 7inch high resolution 'Retina' display iPad, MacStories has found some evidence of this in the iPad's file system.

It turns out, if you can access the iPad’s file system (using Open SSH or Netatalk) and open the iBooks.app folder, there’s a “bookmark-ribbon-iPad@2x.png” file in there. It’s well known that Retina iPhone images have @2x in the file name: in fact, the respectively iPhone images are called “bookmark-ribbon-iPhone@2x.png” and “bookmark-ribbon-iPhone.png”.

The normal bookmark image used by the iPad is 38x68px and the @2x image is 76x136px. This suggests that the next iPad could possibly feature a display with a 2048x1536 resolution.
