Fountainhead International has announced StretchPro 1.1, an update to its app for video-guided stretching throughout the day for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. Wherever they are, any iOS4 device enables users to receive push reminders to perform simple stretches to help reduce muscle strain, fatigue, stress, and injury. Soothing videos demonstrate the correct way to exercise the eyes, neck, shoulders, chest, back, wrists, fingers, and legs. Users may select any one of 20 videos, focus on one area of the body, view them all from head to toe, or play in shuffle mode. The version 1.1 update also includes an improved, full screen HD video player, that can be viewed in either portrait or landscape orientation.

Fountainhead is in the business of high quality ergonomic solutions for the office, and their app exemplifies the beauty of form and function they espouse. "We believe that by taking a proactive approach in creating our client's work environment, we can help them perform at their best and avoid stress, pain, and injury." The studio-produced videos are all of the highest technical quality, shot with a ruddy female model against an elegant white background. Instructions are given by a female in voiceover while the model, seated in an office chair, demonstrates. Where appropriate, both front and side views are seen simultaneously, enhancing the user's ability to comply with all instructions for proper execution. All instructions are also provided in text form. Appiction developed the app.

Taking note that many spend a good part of their day seated, Fountainhead emphasizes the absolute necessity of stretching at regular intervals. Incorporating these breaks has the effect of promoting mental clarity, effectiveness, and positive mood. StretchPro provides the perfect means for staying healthy, easily. Some of the benefits which accrue naturally are: improved blood circulation; enhanced oxygen flow; improved concentration and mental alertness; greater productivity; avoidance and/or minimization of stress, discomfort, soreness, muscle tension, and eye strain; decreased risk of injury; better posture; and an overall feeling of wellness. In addition to stretches, the app also includes eye and breathing exercises, and health tips.

Feature Highlights:
* Balanced program of stretches for all major areas of the body
* Ideal for use in the office, at home, traveling, or anytime
* Relieve stress and prevent injuries
* Single-Player Mode
* Videos cover eyes, neck, shoulders, chest, back, wrists, fingers, and legs
* Push reminders with Version 1.1 of Stretchpro running on iOS 4
* Blackberry and Android versions of StretchPro coming August 1

As StretchPro launches an animated corporate logo is followed by the tag "style meets ergonomics." The GUI consists of a stylishly rendered graphic of a woman, and touching any area produces animated waves emanating from that point. From there the user is invited to view one of the videos related to that part of the body. With the release of iPhone OS 4 the app offers full support for scheduled push reminders to take a break and stretch.

Though introduced in iOS 3, Push Notifications have not been fully implemented till the multi-tasking enabled iOS 4. The Apple Push Notification service provides a way to alert users of new information, even when the target application isn't running. Text notifications, audible alerts, or the addition of a numbered badge to the app icon are all possible. The schedule, length, and frequency of stretching sessions, as well as the type of alert, are all user selectable.

The app can be used by anyone anytime anywhere. It has been proven popular with business executives, frequent travelers, call center operators, busy housewives, students, gamers, truckers, etc. It is also perfect for use on a plane, on the road, at work, in school, at home, etc. Android and and Blackberry compatible versions of Stretchpro are scheduled for released around August 1.

"Stretchpro has been a great success, with many thousands of iPhone owners using it daily," commented CEO Michele Periquet. "In appreciation, the first 500 users who sign up from within the updated app, scheduled for release Monday, July 19, will get a chance to win a Variable Balans chair - the original kneeling chair - from Varier. Please see our website for more info on this ergonomic chair."
