Entwine has released of their first iPhone application, Beauty Mirror Lite, the only existing application that can be used as a family activity to support girls in defining what makes them a beautiful person. This free trial version is designed to provide constant, positive reinforcement to young girls reminding them of how smart, pretty, kind, funny, and talented they are. The app's unique features are its fairy tale mirror and "Beauty Slides": customized slides created by taking photos of things they are proud of and combining them with a written special message.

"This is a great app!" commented Jason, a parent who tested the beta version of Beauty Mirror earlier this summer with his three daughters. "I will use the Beauty Mirror to send them reminders of why I think they are the best. Dads have such an opportunity to influence a daughter's self-confidence and esteem and this is a great way to do it, fun tool too!"

The app opens with one of ten funny beauty questions such as, "Who is going to be the Next Queen of England?" The girl then receives a message revealing to her it will be her and that "We are all beautiful." She can then create beauty slides from the five beauty choices: Giggles, Smarts, Looks, Activities, and Kindness. For each beauty slide, she uploads a photo and adds text about what makes her beautiful. A benefit to having Beauty Mirror on the parents' iPhone is that they can continue to add slides and surprise their daughter when she asks to see the application.

Designing the "Beauty Slides" for Beauty Mirror can be a great family activity that gives parents the opportunity to connect with their daughters and showcase all their accomplishments. For example, an amusing way to start the family project is to dash around the house and gather trophies, artwork, pictures, school papers, and her favorite pair of shoes. Parents lend a hand by capturing sweet or playful images of their daughter accompanied by her prized possessions.

"Great bonding experience!" Rosela, mother who tested the beta version of Beauty Mirror with her 8 and 11 year old daughters. "I spent the evening with my two daughters making their Beauty Slides. Crafting the messages to go with the pictures gave me the opportunity to encourage my girls to delight in who they are. After writing a beauty statement, we shouted it out to see if it felt good and true. This was a positive and really fun activity; I would recommend it to any parent with an iPhone."

Pricing and Availability:
Beauty Mirror Lite 1.0 is exclusively available through iTunes App Store. An enhanced version, Beauty Mirror, costs $1.99 (USD) and includes the ability to email a beauty slide along with more types of beauty, 20 beauty slides, and new beauty questions. Both versions are best used on devices with a camera.
