Formula 1 on Apple TV is adding Dolby Atmos starting with the United States Grand Prix on Sunday, October 25, while Multiview is expanding to supported smart TVs. The race begins at 4 p.m. ET at Circuit of The Americas in Austin, Texas.

The race will be the first F1 broadcast in Dolby Atmos, according to Apple, adding the audio format alongside existing Dolby Vision support. Both require compatible playback equipment through the Apple TV app, including supported Apple devices and Dolby-enabled TVs, soundbars, or home theater systems.

Apple TV became the exclusive U.S. home of Formula 1 this season, with sessions available live and on demand. For this weekend's championship context, Apple says Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli has a chance to clinch his first Drivers' Championship and become the youngest title winner.

Multiview and Race Coverage

Viewers can choose English or Spanish commentary and access up to 30 additional live feeds across the weekend. Those include Driver Tracker, session timing and data, and a mixed onboard feed that switches between cars. Podium feeds follow the drivers in first, second, and third place, but are available only during races and Sprint sessions.

Multiview combines up to four live feeds on one screen. The feature was part of Apple's initial F1 viewing experience, and is now available on supported smart TVs as well as Apple devices and streaming players.

Schedule and Ways to Watch

The full weekend schedule is below. All times are Eastern:

  • Friday, October 23: Practice 1 at 1:30 p.m.; Practice 2 at 5 p.m.
  • Saturday, October 24: Practice 3 at 1:30 p.m.; Qualifying at 5 p.m.
  • Sunday, October 25: United States Grand Prix at 4 p.m.

F1 coverage is included with a U.S. Apple TV subscription, priced at $14.99 per month with a seven-day free trial for new subscribers. It is available in the Apple TV app on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV 4K, Vision Pro, compatible smart TVs, streaming devices, PlayStation, and Xbox, as well as through the web player. Eligible customers activating a new iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, or Mac can get three months free under Apple's limited-time offer.

The race is also part of Apple's live IMAX screenings, with the United States Grand Prix showing at more than 50 locations across the country, including the Bullock Texas State History Museum in Austin.

Tubi will also stream a free alternative broadcast through The Fast Lane, hosted by Michelle Khare and Justin Bell. It combines commentary with onboard footage and real-time driver tracking, rather than simply mirroring the main Apple TV presentation.
