TomTom has posted a new video demonstrating the features of its upcoming car kit for the iPhone.

The kit works in conjunction with the TomTom navigation app for the iPhone. It offers secure docking, enhanced GPS performance, clear voice instructions and hands-free calling, while charging your iPhone at the same time.

One word describes this pricing; $$GREED$$. I will NOT be purchasing this product. Tomtom needs to reconsider this price. I would not even consider this product at that price. That's about $250 kiwi hard earned dollars. It's simply just not worth it. Tomtom, if you want t sell these puppies, you need to half your GREED. Kiwi501

i bought navigon ... with the new uggrade its a lot more better.... text to speech... and also i did have both of them . when i put address from my contact using tomtom i have to redo it again is not recognized by tomtom the address.. but when i use navigon put the address i have provided from my contact it recognized by navigon... almost every person on my phonebook is not working and have to manually put the address again using tomtom.. NAVIGON still best :)

I know after paying $100 for the App I wouldn't pay more than $100 for the dock. That would just be a rip off!

TomTom should came out two month ago.... They were mentioned in WWDC which was a BIG marketing for them, but they waited toooooo long to release it. I believe Navigon and iGo took alot of your potential customers, including me. Sygic sucked.

You're missing the point, the car kit gives you a better gps receiver than the one included in the iPhone. Navigon etc doesn't, they all depends on the built in gps receiver.
