Comex, the hacker behind Spirit and JailbreakMe, has announced that he will be going to work for Google in a few weeks time.
In other news, I’m going to intern for Google in a few weeks.
When p0sixninja exclaimed, "Now you can't hack iPhone or Android!!!" he replied, "Not going to be involved with Android, and also I don’t like it enough to ever want to hack it :p"
Nicholas Allegra a.k.a. Comex first appeared on the iPhone jailbreak scene in March of 2010 when he demonstrated an untethered jailbreak for the iPhone 3GS called Spirit. Then in August of 2010 Comex released another untethered jailbreak of iOS 4.0 for all devices including the iPhone 4. This jailbreak was entitled JailbreakMe 2.0 and could easily be performed using just MobileSafari. After Apple closed the PDF exploit, Comex was again able to update JailbreakMe to perform an untethered jailbreak of iOS 4.3.3 and the iPad 2 in July 2011. In August of 2011 he announced he was going to work for Apple.
On October 18, 2012, Comex revealed via Twitter that his employment at Apple had been terminated because he forgot to reply to an email offer to continue his employment at Apple as a remote intern.
Comex has yet to reveal what he will be working on at Google.

Its impressive to see how much knowledge these young guys have, where companies like Apple put engineers with years of experience guys like him break with minimal knowledge.
Impressive where ever he works he will benefit their company.
Why do Commenters behave like children here? Don't simply blab stuff just to be heard. It is news because we are now not to expect any jailbreaks from Comex. He is only one in of the few that made it possible in the past to jailbreak iOS devices. As far as where he works he can jump to a new job each day and that's ok. Just because you're use to working at Mc D for 10 years straight, flipping burgers doesn't mean he need to do the same. Staying at a dead end job isn't the way to go.
These guys crack me up. First they say its not about the money then they go work for apple, Facebook and now google. Didn't he say he wouldn't touch android? Hmm guess money was right for him to touch it huh?
Comex didn't take a penny for his jailbreak...it would've been worth millions had he sold it. A German company copied and sold it for $29.00. Dude's not in it for money.
Congrats to comex. Hopefully he stays on Apple projects as a side thing but he may just do wayyyyy more on Android. What side of the fence will he stay on?
