Google has announced an updated version of the Google Maps SDK for iOS and opened the API to all developers.

This version of the SDK includes support for ground overlays, gesture control and geodesic polylines. To get started, enable the Google Maps SDK for iOS service in the Google APIs Console alongside other Google APIs.

I guess the figure someone is going to expose the code eventually, why not just share it. Apple is too busy trying to make their next move..

not good move by Google by opening a map and SDK to all people. Apple might get their hands from other developer and get map data and fix their map. This is not good move by point of view. Also should have release iPad version of map.

No need waiting, just download Google Maps iPhone's version and then install FullForce from Cydia (Free) and enable it for Google Maps in Settings. And you will see looks like native Google Maps iPad's version! This FullForce makes huge difference for that Maps! Until google makes updates for this...
